“There Can Never Come a Second Home Half So Sacred”: Selected Documents of Miami University, 1873-1931

Celebrate American Archives Month in October by attending this public program that complements ‘There Can Never Come a Second Home Half So Sacred:’ Selected Documents of Miami University, 1873-1931, the second book in a series of library publications highlighting correspondence and other manuscripts of those who shaped Miami University and made contributions to American history and culture. Kate Rousmaniere, professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and author of the book’s foreword, will begin the program by offering thoughts about the changing nature of higher education in late 19th and early 20th century America. Betsy Butler, Special Collections librarian, will share information about several documents that she selected for the book. After the program, attendees will have the opportunity to view many of the original documents included in the book. Copies of ‘There Can Never Come a Second Home Half So Sacred:’ Selected Documents of Miami University, 1873-1931 will be available for purchase.
